Today's Look...Frosty Blues

Originally I had a completely different idea for my make-up today. I was originally using Neon Yellow & Black but just wasn't happening for me so I decided to switch to this Blue, frosty creation.

Today's Look... Naturally

A fabulous friend of mine gave me some awesome Quo palettes. One palette is a Bronzer, while the other is a eye shadow palette.

There are 2 bronzer colors. Both of which are lovely. My favorite color in the eye shadow palette was this beautiful Red-Brown. I hadto give it a try. It is the shade that is on my lid. There will be a review forboth of these palettes.

Today's Look... Purple Smoke

Today was a beautiful spring Sunday. It was a relaxing at home day but still felt the need for a bit of color. I chose to use Purple because I haven`t in such a long time. Not too much of a story or theme today.

If you have any suggestions or requests for different themes, colors, or products you would like to see please comment below.

Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy Polish 2013

"Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy allows you to get a gorgeous, iridescent effect inspired by outer space. The holographic glitter top coat is illuminated by the dark cream base coat, giving your nails a multi-dimensional look. The dual-ended package gives you everything you need to create a fun, cosmic look."  -Revlon.ca

This week while I was grocery shopping a nail polish caught my eye. It was the Nail Art Moon Candy polish by Revlon. The bottle is dual ended and beautifully amazing to look at. I love these polishes!!

I had to try them right away so I purchased a couple colors and tried them that night.

Film & Television Class Photo Shoots

A few weeks ago I finished my Film & Television course in school. Just like at the end of every other course completed thus far we gotten the opportunity to have 2 photo shoots, showcasing our work. I was given complete creative freedom when it came to style and direction, as well as make up and costume design.

My first photo was of a tribal angel wing tattoo. I was looking for a large back piece that would be simple but bold with a obvious message or symbol. This make up was straight forward but took plenty of time to fill in. The hardest part would have to of been trying to keep the lines as straight as possible.

My second photo was my version of the Batman character "Two Face". I was definitely trying to go for a more realistic take on what he could have looked like as a character. This photo is one of my favourite make ups and photos I have had taken during school. I was extremely happy and proud of the out come. However with that said there are always things you can improve & learn from.

Just wanted to give a special thanks to my handsome model Evan for coming to school with me and letting me put a whole bunch of uncomfortable products on your face & of course to Danielle; Photographer & Editor.

Don't forget to follow me on Instagram for more pictures and daily updates.

Theatre Class Photo Shoots

Two weeks ago I had completed my Theatre course at Complections. We had our photo shoots within the last couple days of the course and got our final prints back on Wednesday.

Doing these photo shoots for school was quite exciting because I got to control the creative direction.

My first photo shoot was based off prints made by artist,  Roy Lichtenstein. My model was meant to look as much like the printed comic as possible.

My idea was to play on the tears already rolling down her cheeks and really see the sadness in her eyes. She was meant to look like she was almost at a funeral. I also choose to dress her in all black to contrast from her colourful make-up and hair.

Model: Amanda F

My second photo shoot was created around the idea of doing a shoot in UV black light. I have always loved  black lighting, as well as any glow in the dark art or paint.

I had chosen to do a tiger lady because I wanted to create a image that would be simple but bold and powerful. I also need something that was still bright enough to leap off the page.

Model: Camille H

A lot of work went into these photo shoots on everyone's part. I would like to send out a very special thanks to Amanda & Camille for coming down to Complections and volunteering their time to model for me.
Thank you so very much!!

Current course: Film & Television... blog to come soon. :)

Fashion Class Photo Shoots

As mentioned in my last blog I am currently attending a make-up school in Toronto called Complections.

Though out my time at Complections I will be learning the basics of hair styling, fashion, theatre, film & television, and special effect make-up.

So far I have completed their hair styling, fashion, and theatre courses. It seems crazy that I have already almost completed half the program.

I have finally received my pictures from my first photo shoot. During each course we are given the opportunity to have photos taken of two make ups that we would like displayed in our portfolios. Once the photos are taken we choose a shot we like for editing. It is then printed and ready to be placed in our portfolios.

These are my photo's for my fashion course...

Finally attending school... Complections College of Makeup Art & Design

I have been meaning to write this blog for quite sometime and just couldn't find the time, or space to sit down and write it.

I basically want to explain why I haven't posted very much in the last few months. I believe I may have spoken about attending school in past entry's but have not fully explained or spoke about what I've learned so far.

Starting on Oct 1st 2012 I began to attend a school in Toronto called Complections. This school specializes in make-up art and design. I have chosen their 26 week Comprehensive course which will cover Fashion Photographic make-up, Film & Television make-up, Theatrical make-up, Facial Hair & Knotting, Prosthetic make-up, and a short course on styling hair.

IMATS Toronto

Sooooo IMATS Toronto is coming up this weekend and as much as I already have a wish list, and a sort of game plan I was wondering if there is anything you would suggest I check out this year?

OPI's Sky Fall Collection

Newly released Sky Fall, the new James Bond flick has invaded theatres all over the country. To celebrate 50 awesome years of James Bond OPI has released a holiday collection.

The Sky Fall collection features 12 shades, plus a 18K gold foil polish called The Man with the Golden Gun.

The Sky Fall collection was released in October. I do realize I am late in posting this. You can pick up these polishes at many salons & beauty retail stores. They go anywhere between $8-$10.

I think these shades are beautiful. Looks like a very royal & rich collection. Lots of jewel tones. :)
I am pretty excited to give The Man with the Golden Gun a try too!!

Let me know what you think of the Sky Fall collection, or of course the movie!
